x150 French Marigold Seeds – tagetes patula

I grow Marigolds in the garden every year for their unique ability to ward off certain 6-legged pests. Specifically, I grow them religiously amongst my beets to prevent leaf borers. I also make a habit of sprinkling in Marigold seed throughout my grow beds each spring. They take longer to germinate and are slower to grow than most garden variety plants, so it’s rare that they crowd my veggies. I have been planting marigold and collecting from seed for almost 10 years. The flowers I get are mostly vibrant orange or rich deep red with bright yellow or orange accents throughout. The richly fragrant flowers can range from 1″ to almost 3″ wide. The body of the plant rarely exceeds 8-10″ in height, especially if it’s competing, making it a great low-growing ground cover. Well spaced and well fertilized, they can reach 12-15″ tall. The plants are long lived and flower all throughout the season.

Our germination test groups determined:
– 15-25 days germination time
– 65%+ germination rate

Each seed lot has been portioned with 10-20% more seed than the advertised quantity, just to pad against potential miscount or infertility.

The photos on this listing are of the seeds you will receive and some of the plants that they came from. These are not stock photos.

We collect, clean, sort, count, and sell seed as a chance for others to propagate healthful, medicinal, and edible plants. We factor prices based on our time and resources, nothing more. We do not try to compete with wholesalers and re-sellers.

We STRONGLY encourage everyone to save seeds of their own! It’s practical, free, and addicting 🙂
